This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Create Reactor Modification Tooling that integrates mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical/motor actuation based on project inputs, specifications, and environmental considerations while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
• Produce fabrication drawings, followed by constructing and testing the Reactor Modification Tooling you design to validate that performance requirements are achieved.
• Develop 3D models, conduct access and clearance analyses, and prepare drawings, specifications, and test plans to facilitate tooling development.
• Work in collaboration with the Hardware Team, Analysis Teams, Field Deployment Teams, and Services Business to deliver tooling designs that align with our Nuclear Quality and Safety standards.
• Conduct design reviews to showcase your designs to engineering peers and leadership, gathering their feedback.
• Author operational procedures for the tooling you create to assist the field deployment team in executing repairs.
• Provide support for emergent customer issues during Outage Season, addressing complex challenges with technical advice and a rapid design, build, and test approach.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and testing, including both 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience throughout the complete design evolution process from concept to delivery.
• Familiarity with design to cost and design for manufacturability principles.
• Proficient in various fabrication techniques, including conventional machining, welding, and EDM.
• Capability to comprehend and convey technical content to a diverse range of stakeholders: engineers, project managers, product managers, as well as both business and engineering leadership.
• Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, and execution as an engineer or engineering team lead.
• Proven ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams on pioneering projects.
• Experience in the nuclear industry with a solid understanding of nuclear reactor components is highly advantageous.
