Senior Engineer – QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.

📋 Description

• Design and implement automation scripts focused on API Testing, E2E Flows, and backend performance testing using Playwright and complementary tools.

• Identify candidate scenarios for automation based on impact and criticality.

• Update and maintain the automation framework and its automated test suites (Smoke test, integration, regression) aligned with business risks.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Define and prioritize the automation of tests for APIs and critical flows within the assigned POD or domain, focusing on risk, business impact, and operational stability.

• Make technical decisions regarding the design, maintenance, and evolution of the automation framework, coding standards, test structure, and component reuse.

• Determine which scenarios should be automated, their placement in the testing pyramid, and which should remain as manual or exploratory validations.

• Propose, implement, and adjust quality practices with a shift-left approach, including testable acceptance criteria, test data definition, and preventive controls before production release.

• Approve or reject the technical coverage of a functionality from a quality perspective, identifying gaps, dependencies, and risks.

• Timely escalate quality risks, technical debt, environmental limitations, or recurring failures that jeopardize delivery or platform stability.

• Provide technical leadership in integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, defining execution rules, mandatory suites, entry and exit criteria, and failure handling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Systems Engineer or related field, with over 3 years of experience in QA automation with strong exposure to API testing and automation.

• Knowledge of programming languages such as JS and TypeScript.

• Proficiency with tools like Postman.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in Microservices.

• Languages: English and Portuguese (Desirable).
