This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Global Design Leader - Plant Controls responsible for overseeing extensive controls engineering projects.
• Develop the control strategy at the project level and document the requirements.
• Spearhead the design and execution of controls system projects.
• Act as an empowered decision-maker at the project level.
• Manage projects from ITO-COD for high-risk, complex projects as outlined in the internal risk review.
• Assist with ITO/Proposal initiatives.
• Lead and work within an Agile software development methodology.
• Support and shape product requirements definitions.
• Lead on a global scale and take responsibility for the overall definition and management of Control System Requirements.
• Drive the overall architecture, high-level design, verification, validation, and commissioning requirements.
• Ensure that system function, performance, interfaces, reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements, goals, and margins are clearly defined and managed.
• Assist in developing comprehensive test plans for system verification and validation, new article, and customer system Software Acceptance Tests (SwATs), as well as site pre-operation, startup, and commissioning.
• Coordinate the flow down of requirements and tasks from internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to establish the Project Baseline Master Schedule and Cost Roll-ups.
• Lead customer discussions and reviews to enhance controls solutions and improve customer experience and expectations.
• Promote consistent solutions across all control systems (GT, ST, HRSG, BOP, Electrical).
• Exhibit System Level thinking.
• Lead fulfillment teams with an inclusive and adaptable leadership style.
• Foster and maintain close, responsive, and productive working relationships with internal GE groups as well as external customers.
• Be accountable for meeting Controls cost and schedule targets in collaboration with functional managers.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the combined cycle power plant industry, specifically in controls.
• Proficiency in the design and application of GE power generation controls, electrical systems, or accessory systems.
• Experience in power generation requisitions, customer interactions, project management, or EPCs.
• Familiarity with system integration.
• Proven verbal and written communication and presentation skills directed towards teams and business leaders.
• Knowledge and experience with Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and/or Plant controls.
• Demonstrated capability to independently drive projects to successful completion.
• Proven expertise in technical writing.
• Demonstrated success in technical leadership of a diverse team.
