Senior Engineer – Cloud Platforms, Virtualization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop software for an entire cloud infrastructure software stack.

• Create high-quality designs and code utilizing Kubernetes, containerized applications, distributed cloud systems, and cloud infrastructure management.

• Collaborate with a team dedicated to containerization and fault-tolerant/carrier-grade development.

• Engage with some of the most innovative and exciting open-source software projects, including Kubernetes, OpenStack, KubeVirt, Helm, Ansible, Puppet, and OSTree.

• Develop and implement platform upgrade features with exceptional design and code quality.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in OpenStack and related core technologies, integrating them into the platform when suitable.

• Investigate and troubleshoot issues reported during product verification.

• Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle using agile methodologies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Profound understanding of virtualization technologies, including the architecture and components of OpenStack such as Nova and Neutron.

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.

• More than 3 years of experience in developing infrastructure software for highly scalable and distributed systems, particularly with Kubernetes and Helm charts.

• Strong knowledge of the workings and architecture of virtualization technologies like OpenStack (including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, etc.), VMware vCenter, and Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift.

• At least 2 years of programming experience in C/C++ and Python.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience contributing to the architecture and design (including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of both new and existing systems.
