Senior Engineer, Civil PE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee civil and structural engineering for several simultaneous high-voltage substation projects.

• Deliver civil and structural engineering design along with construction support for designated projects.

• Collaborate with clients and external parties on technical matters.

• Offer technical assistance and direction to designers, engineers, and project managers.

• Contribute to the establishment of engineering standards.

• Supervise engineering calculations and studies, reviewing outcomes.

• Execute civil and structural engineering calculations and designs for substations, working with subcontractors, engineers, and designers.

• Create finite element structural models and perform steel design calculations, including connections and anchor rods.

• Generate structural design and fabrication drawings in collaboration with designers.

• Prepare reinforced concrete foundation calculations and foundation design drawings.

• Produce site-work drawings for embankment preparation, drainage, and erosion control.

• Manage design-related issues with clients and vendors through meetings and conferences.

• Maintain engineering documentation and records.

• Coordinate with purchasing and quality control teams.

• Provide engineering specifications and information necessary for equipment procurement.

• Review vendor submissions.

• Collaborate with contract administration to ensure compliance with client requirements.

• Engage in the professional development of junior engineers and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Professional Engineering license in one or more US states is required.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

• Over 10 years of experience in at least two of the following areas: foundation design, structural steel design, or transmission-level substations (13.8kV–500kV).

• Highly driven and capable of executing tasks in a leadership capacity.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in collaborating effectively within a team environment.

• Solid understanding of engineering theories and principles.

• Adept at researching engineering and design challenges, assessing alternatives, making recommendations, and presenting solutions.

• Skilled in problem-solving under time-sensitive conditions.

• Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD (2015 or later).

• Intermediate proficiency in MathCAD.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Project.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Advanced skills in RISA or other structural analysis/design software.

• Capability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 15 lbs.
