This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ This pivotal role entails investigating and analyzing residential, commercial, and industrial properties to address claims and legal issues.
β’ Responsibilities may encompass contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material inadequacies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses.
β’ Tasks include collecting photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document on-site conditions, overseeing field-testing, and reviewing historical records.
β’ It is vital to prepare both oral and written reports that detail the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and remediation suggestions, as well as to provide expert opinions and testimony in litigated cases.
β’ A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is required, with a master's degree being preferred.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience working with residential, commercial, and/or industrial properties in either design or forensic consulting roles is necessary.
β’ A Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York is mandatory, and obtaining additional state licenses will be required as part of this role.
β’ A current NCEES record is preferred.
β’ Experience with litigation and investigations is essential.
β’ Familiarity with building codes, basic architectural and engineering principles, construction materials, assembly and installation methods, and industry practices is required.
