This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct DMSMS assessments to identify risks related to electronic components that are obsolete or nearing obsolescence.
• Create mitigation strategies, which may include selecting alternative components, refreshing technology, redesigning FPGAs, and making Last Time Buy recommendations.
• Design FPGA-based substitutes for obsolete ASICs, CPLDs, PLDs, and discrete logic components.
• Develop and maintain approved replacement Bills of Material.
• Assist with schematic updates, PCB design evaluations, signal integrity assessments, power integrity checks, and hardware verification tasks.
• Analyze design and interface implications in accordance with DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754A, and ARP4761 standards.
• Support laboratory testing, hardware integration, troubleshooting, and configuration management activities.
• Produce certification-quality engineering documentation.
• Aid in the implementation of engineering changes and convey technical recommendations to both customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide assistance with ASIC-related design tasks as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in FPGA or embedded hardware development.
• Experience in FPGA development utilizing AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Microchip Libero.
• Proficient in programming with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Familiarity with DO-254 and DO-160 requirements or certification processes.
• Strong knowledge of digital electronics, PCB design reviews, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Experience with avionics or embedded communication interfaces, such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I²C, CAN, or UART.
