Senior Electrical Estimator – Technical Services Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Generate precise estimates for residential, commercial, and electrical fit-out projects across Australia.

• Analyze architectural plans, electrical schematics, circuit schedules, specifications, and tender documents to define project scope.

• Conduct material, labor, and equipment take-offs.

• Develop quotations, tender pricing, project budgets, and submission documentation.

• Price variations, additional work, and changes in scope.

• Collect, evaluate, and compare supplier quotations and material costs.

• Create electrical shop drawings and as-built documentation utilizing AutoCAD.

• Review and annotate plans and technical documents with Bluebeam.

• Compile operations, maintenance, and project handover manuals.

• Oversee drawing revisions and technical documentation management.

• Assist project managers in costing, procurement, coordination, reporting, and administration tasks.

• Prepare monthly progress claim spreadsheets and accompanying documentation.

• Monitor project expenditures, including labor, materials, and supplier costs.

• Maintain job and project records in Simpro or similar systems.

• Utilize Procore or other construction management platforms as necessary.

• Monitor tender platforms and evaluate potential opportunities.

• Support the preparation, pricing, and timely submission of tenders.

• Maintain tender pipelines, CRM records, and document tender outcomes.

• Assist in establishing and developing a team of estimators, CAD drafters, and project support professionals based in the Philippines.

• Help with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and mentoring of team members.

• Establish standard operating procedures, templates, and quality control processes.

• Review team estimates, take-offs, and technical drawings.

• Distribute workloads, manage deadlines, and monitor team capacity.

• Identify opportunities for AI and automation to enhance estimating, documentation, and administrative workflows.

• Assess emerging tools and propose technological advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a proven track record in Australian projects.

• Extensive experience in estimating commercial electrical fit-outs.

• A solid understanding of Australian electrical construction and tendering practices.

• Proficient knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian electrical standards.

• Capability to interpret architectural plans, electrical drawings, circuit schedules, specifications, and tender documents.

• Familiarity with electrical power and distribution, lighting systems, lighting controls, switchboards, cable sizing, RCDs, and protection systems.

• Understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, security, and CCTV systems.

• Experience in preparing detailed labor and material take-offs.

• Proficient in obtaining supplier pricing and evaluating competing quotes.

• Skilled in pricing variations and additional work.

• Strong competencies in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

• Experience with Simpro or similar job and project management software.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based estimating.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to independently manage multiple tenders, projects, and deadlines.

• Confidence in communicating with Australian-based project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

• Experience with Procore is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with producing electrical shop drawings and as-built documentation is highly desirable.

• Experience in preparing operations and handover manuals is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of preparing monthly progress claims is highly desirable.

• Experience in managing or mentoring estimating and drafting teams is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Australian tender platforms and subscription services is highly desirable.

• Experience with CRM and tender pipeline management is highly desirable.

• Experience with C-Bus, Dynalite, KNX, Pixie, Fibaro, or similar lighting control systems is highly desirable.

• Exposure to Level 2 electrical work is highly desirable.

• Experience in residential construction, renovation, or property project estimating is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with using AI or automation to refine estimating and technical workflows is highly desirable.

• Must disclose any existing ongoing roles or client engagements.
