This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify quotes, edit clips, and live tweet events as assigned in real-time with a quick turnaround.
• Compose recap articles in the Axios Smart Brevity style across various event formats.
• Create and refine YouTube video titles and descriptions using AI-assisted tools while ensuring all content adheres to Axios editorial standards.
• Write and publish LinkedIn recap posts for Houses and Summits.
• Identify relevant Axios reporting and newsroom coverage to integrate into event communications and materials for attendees.
• Aid in proactive concept development and ideation for future events.
• Uphold editorial excellence and Smart Brevity standards throughout all content.
• Draft email communications for attendees, including Know Before You Go (KBYG), thank you notes, moderator outreach emails, and reminders for the day before and day of the event.
• Ensure that event communications are in line with Axios Live editorial standards and style guidelines.
• Produce transcripts and post-event content under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with the newsroom, social, and communications teams to highlight newsworthy moments in real-time.
• Remain available for rapid-response editorial requests during significant event programs.
• Lead the guest invitation strategy for Roundtables.
• Build and maintain lists of executive-level attendees.
• Research and vet potential participants to ensure relevance, newsworthiness, diversity, and current leadership roles.
• Track client recommendations, competitor sensitivities, and audience priorities.
• Coordinate direct outreach to communications teams, public relations professionals, and industry stakeholders.
• Manage invitation workflows, including initial invitations, follow-up outreach, RSVP management, guest substitutions, and participant communications.
• Maintain invitation trackers and databases of attendees.
• Provide client leads with updates on attendance, participation status, and outreach reporting.
• Serve as the on-site editorial lead.
• Manage audio recording, note-taking, and transcript workflows.
• Schedule calls to prepare moderators.
• Compile research and briefing materials for moderators.
• Create prep documents and conversation frameworks for moderators.
• Draft host cards for moderators, run-of-show materials, and event scripts.
• Produce attendee lookbooks, seating charts, and briefings for participants.
• Gather moderators, thought starters, relevant Axios reporting, and discussion prompts.
• Ensure moderators are fully prepared before and during events.
• Support moderators and speakers throughout the event experience.
• Update and maintain documentation for the editorial process regarding concept requests, roundtable attendees, and other editorial deliverables.
• Assist in migrating and organizing workflows across Google Sites, Airtable, and internal systems.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Axios Live editorial operations.
• 3+ years of experience in journalism, content strategy, communications, events, audience development, or a related field.
• Exceptional AP-style writing abilities, with a knack for quickly and clearly producing articles under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of news judgment and editorial standards.
• Experience in creating social media content and covering live events.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with senior executives, reporters, or public-facing stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI-powered content tools and workflows.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Airtable, Splash, Sailthru, and related event platforms is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across teams.
• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and event days as required.
