Senior Editor, NFL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of reporters with a focus on delivering news and unique team analysis; develop and strategize story and video concepts.

• Create processes and set priorities to manage content assignments, which encompass breaking news, daily reporting, live blog contributions, long-form projects, and video production and editing.

• Contribute to the overarching, conceptual vision for the vertical, including long-term strategy; generate and plan story ideas and identify opportunities for expansion.

• Assist in making overall NFL news decisions, coordinating efforts, and editing content.

• Strive to infuse a distinctive, engaging, and authentic voice into all digital media products.

• Keep abreast of and demonstrate proficiency in subscription and engagement metrics.

• Stay knowledgeable and proficient in SEO best practices.

• Contribute to the oversight of staffing assignments, editorial resources, and processes.

• Maintain a current and accurate forward-looking editorial budget using Airtable.

• Work collaboratively with the team on story and video ideas.

• Partner with the Visuals team to ensure optimal execution for stories that incorporate a strong visual component.

• Collaborate with the Audience team on headlines, URLs, and the best timing for publication.

• Edit and publish articles through WordPress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in sports journalism, including direct editorial management of writers.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the NFL.

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

• This position is remote-based within the United States or Canada.
