Senior Drupal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines based on GitHub Actions.

• Oversee automated workflows for the creation of MultiDev environments (Pantheon).

• Execute canary deployments and implement phased release strategies.

• Conduct fleet-wide upstream deployments across more than 400 sites.

• Diagnose pipeline failures and enhance both resiliency and observability.

• Improve automation related to release processes, including generating changelogs and validating deployments.

• Collaborate with Pantheon platform tools such as Terminus CLI.

• Manage MultiDev environments.

• Oversee upstream management and site orchestration.

• Ensure platform stability, streamline deployment workflows, and manage the lifecycle of environments.

• Contribute to and maintain a multi-tenant platform based on Drupal 10.

• Develop and support custom modules, integrations, and backend functionalities.

• Debug and resolve issues within a shared codebase that affects multiple sites.

• Adhere to best practices regarding performance, security, and maintainability.

• Expand automation capabilities using tools like Quicksilver for event-driven workflows.

• Enhance visibility into system health, deployment results, and failures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6+ years of experience with Drupal (8/9/10) and PHP.

• Familiarity with the Pantheon hosting platform.

• Practical experience with Terminus CLI.

• Knowledge of MultiDev workflows.

• Experience with upstream-based Drupal architectures.

• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent).

• Comfortable debugging application code.

• Experienced in troubleshooting deployment pipelines.

• Knowledgeable in hosting/platform environments.

• Possess a systems and engineering mindset.

• Experience working within multi-site or multi-tenant architectures.

• Strong understanding of version control (Git).

• Knowledge of deployment strategies such as canary and phased rollouts.

• Proficient in environment management, including dev/test/prod isolation.

• Capable of working across both application code and infrastructure workflows.

• Frontend experience with Vue.js and TypeScript.

• Scripting or backend experience with Node.js or Python.

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, VPAT).

• Experience with search platforms (e.g., MongoDB Atlas Search, vector search, RAG systems).

• Understanding of release automation patterns, such as auto-generated changelogs and commit parsing.
