Senior Director, Product, Onboarding, Compliance & Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the strategy and implementation for Circle's onboarding, compliance, and risk platform.

• Take ownership of the comprehensive product vision for both internal infrastructure and externally facing platform functionalities.

• Develop and maintain a multi-year product strategy and roadmap focusing on onboarding, KYC/KYB, compliance, and risk management.

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product team.

• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Financial Crimes, Operations, Engineering, and Data teams.

• Convert regulatory requirements into scalable and automated product features.

• Transform compliance and risk infrastructure into documented platform services and APIs.

• Drive the strategic approach for case management, risk scoring, entity screening, and monitoring systems.

• Establish metrics, SLAs, and controls to enhance onboarding conversion rates, reduce false-positive rates, and improve review throughput and risk coverage.

• Represent the platform to executives, regulators, auditors, and enterprise clients.

• Align stakeholders on trade-offs and facilitate secure scaling of the platform across products, jurisdictions, and customer segments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant product leadership experience in building and managing product teams within compliance, risk, identity, onboarding, or trust & safety sectors.

• Experience in a fintech, payments, banking, or financial infrastructure organization.

• In-depth understanding of KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions/OWL screening, and transaction monitoring processes.

• Proven capability to deliver internal platform infrastructure and externally facing productized solutions.

• Demonstrated success in setting portfolio strategy and achieving measurable results across various teams.

• Ability to lead through influence among technical, commercial, and regulatory stakeholders up to the executive level.

• Strategic and analytical mindset with a focus on using data to prioritize investments and assess risk and impact.

• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to make sound judgments in high-stakes and ambiguous situations.

• Preferred: experience in the fields of crypto, stablecoins, digital assets, or regulated financial infrastructure.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI/automation applications in compliance, risk decision-making, or case management.

• Preferred: experience with platforms utilized by external enterprise partners and developers.

• Preferred: knowledge of operations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
