Senior Director – Medical Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Inspire and lead the Medical Affairs department.

• Guide Medical Science Liaisons and other team members.

• Build and maintain trusted scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare professionals, medical societies, and various stakeholders.

• Oversee medical information, medical education, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), publication planning, lifecycle management, launch strategies, and the creation and approval of both promotional and non-promotional medical materials.

• Collaborate with internal teams.

• Participate in the Promotional Review Committee.

• Ensure that Medical Affairs activities are executed with scientific precision, operational excellence, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD, PhD, or PharmD, or another relevant advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in medical affairs or clinical research.

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in leading a Medical Affairs function in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, with no less than 6 years of direct team and people management.

• Experience in the U.S. healthcare marketplace is required.

• Extensive expertise in scientific communications, external expert engagement, medical strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Strong understanding of Medical Affairs compliance and best practices.

• Must be available outside of normal business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) during the workweek and occasionally on weekends. Field engagement, through travel or virtual meetings, is required up to 50% of the time.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards and professionalism.
