This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee financial operations, provide leadership, and support within the region, market, or corporate settings.
• Work collaboratively with various departments throughout the organization.
• Offer strategic and tactical support to regional and market leaders to achieve their objectives.
• Generate timely, precise, comprehensive, and transparent financial reports, including operating statements, trend analyses, and key business documents.
• Assist in identifying growth and business development opportunities within existing markets.
• Assess premium and claims assumptions for new markets or products.
• Aid regional, market, and Senior leaders in setting and achieving targets.
• Prepare and deliver Monthly and Quarterly Business Review presentations.
• Foster effective resolutions to both internal and external issues with diplomacy and sensitivity.
• Comprehend reimbursement methodologies that influence market products.
• Support the monthly closing process through journal entries, accruals, and relevant analyses.
• Lead the QAI plan and coordinate initiatives to surpass targets.
• Manage rate advocacy, revenue maximization, risk adjustment, quality initiatives, and product pricing.
• Prepare cost reports and regulatory submissions; liaise with regulatory agencies as necessary.
• Assist with annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes.
• Provide insights into risk sensitivities linked to current and future business drivers.
• Coordinate and assist with independent financial accounting and regulatory audits.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses, trending, and modeling in collaboration with Health Analytics.
• Support market-specific contracting and enhancement initiatives.
• Oversee departmental staff management.
• Develop, implement, and refine processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Evaluate internal controls and implement changes to ensure compliance with MAR, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience is essential.
• At least six (6) years of experience in accounting or finance is required.
• A minimum of four (4) years of management experience is necessary.
• Familiarity with financial analysis concepts, practices, and procedures is required.
• Understanding of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures is important.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is needed.
• Ability to provide financial and business insights to regional, market, and Executive leadership.
• Capability to lead the region/market finance function and engage with external partners, including regulators, actuaries, providers, and peer MCOs.
• Skilled in multitasking and supporting multiple market leaders and business areas concurrently.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others, encompassing staff development, motivation, and rewards.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks and the ability to perform and document owned internal controls.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent critical listening, thinking, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in conflict resolution.
• Strong planning, problem identification, and resolution abilities.
• Detail-oriented mindset.
• Experience in managed care or healthcare is preferred.
• A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent graduate degree is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent certifications are preferred.
• General office environment; may necessitate sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
