This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
β’ Lead the formulation and execution of corporate strategies and mid-term management plans.
β’ Collaborate with executive management to identify and structure company-wide management issues, driving solutions from planning to outcome realization.
β’ Analyze business strategies and portfolios to extract key challenges for the mid-term management plan.
β’ Define and build the necessary organizational design, capabilities, and decision-making mechanisms for strategy execution.
β’ Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information regarding the market, competitors, regulations, and macroeconomic environment.
β’ Structure critical management issues and provide recommendations for decision-making and resource allocation.
β’ Work with the finance and management headquarters to develop financial targets such as revenue, profit, and capital efficiency.
β’ Translate corporate goals into departmental KPIs and lead KPI management.
β’ Plan and introduce advanced management techniques and governance to strengthen financial and investment discipline.
β’ Transform the prioritization and decision-making processes for management resources such as growth investments, costs, and personnel.
β’ Lead consensus-building and stakeholder alignment across departments and regions.
β’ Execute strategies in the field, ensuring consistent advancement until reflected in P/L and KPIs.
β’ Build and nurture a team focused on strategy formulation, KPI management, and communication with executive management.
β’ Disseminate insights and working methods from Corporate Strategy across the entire Santen Group.
β’ Practical experience in corporate-level strategy formulation and execution, with approximately 5 years in strategic planning or consulting firms, or in related departments of a business company.
β’ Experience leading themes that directly engage with executive management, such as mid-term management plans, corporate strategies, and key management issues.
β’ Involvement in not just strategy formulation but also in KPI design, progress management, and decision support, extending to execution and outcome generation.
β’ Work experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
β’ Ability to structure complex and uncertain management issues, clarify priorities, and derive conclusions.
β’ Skill to integrate quantitative and qualitative information and present clear options for management decisions.
β’ Consistent thought process from hypothesis creation to verification, decision-making, and execution.
β’ Strong understanding of management metrics such as business planning, profit and loss structures, investment judgments, and capital efficiency.
β’ Capability to design and operate management metrics as numerical indicators.
β’ Ability to engage in discussions with executives and senior management on equal footing and advance consensus-building.
β’ Leadership to drive decision-making and execution while involving stakeholders, including those from overseas regions.
β’ High explanatory ability to convey complex content in a concise and logical manner.

β’ Willingness and experience in enhancing the thinking capacity and perspectives of junior and mid-level employees.
β’ Proficiency in performing duties in both Japanese and English.
