This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and execute the organization’s global tax planning strategy to enhance effective tax rate, cash tax position, and capital allocation.
• Create international tax structures for global research and development, oncology clinical trials, manufacturing networks, and worldwide commercialization.
• Assess tax implications of global expansion, market entry, commercial launches, and regulatory guidance.
• Lead strategic intellectual property planning, encompassing IP ownership, development, cost-sharing, and technology transfer.
• Oversee tax structuring for mergers, acquisitions, licensing agreements, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct tax due diligence, model tax outcomes, and facilitate integration planning for acquired entities or assets.
• Analyze and structure intercompany financing, capital flows, and treasury initiatives.
• Supervise global transfer pricing strategy along with intercompany agreements and documentation.
• Keep abreast of global tax developments and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Assist with audits and interactions with tax authorities to mitigate tax risks.
• Identify and optimize global incentives related to R&D, clinical trials, and biomanufacturing.
• Prepare long-term tax forecasts and assess ASC 740 implications and uncertain tax positions.
• Convey complex tax subjects to senior leadership and the Board.
• Manage relationships with external advisors.
• Collaborate with Legal, R&D, Clinical, CMC, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Treasury departments.
• Lead a global tax team.
• Over 10 years of experience in international tax planning within multinational, IP-focused organizations.
• Experience in the life sciences or oncology sector is highly preferred.
• Profound knowledge of U.S. international tax regulations, OECD frameworks, Pillar Two, BEPS, and global transfer pricing.
• Experience with intricate cross-border structuring, M&A tax planning, IP migration, and value chain transformation.
• Strong comprehension of global clinical trial operations, biologics and small-molecule manufacturing, CDMO/CRO relationships, and commercialization strategies.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence senior executives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• An MBA or advanced business degree is preferred.
