This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Handle payroll and sales-related business tax submissions across relevant federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
• Prepare and submit original, amended, and overdue tax returns along with the corresponding payments.
• Investigate tax notices and coordinate with tax authorities for clarification and resolution.
• Examine tax discrepancies, ascertain root causes, and implement corrective measures.
• Process amended returns, payment adjustments, account reconciliations, and agency modifications.
• Document findings, resolutions, and preventive measures.
• Research federal, state, and local payroll and sales tax regulations to ensure compliance.
• Suggest improvements to internal procedures.
• Engage in tax operations automation and new technology initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through thorough documentation, testing, and process refinement.
• Provide timely, professional, and precise communication to customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client and operational challenges.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively while maintaining compliance and precision.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Expertise in payroll systems, tax software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Competency in time management, task prioritization, project initiation, and meeting deadlines autonomously.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and capacity to handle multiple priorities.
• Capability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of state employment tax, sales tax, and federal/state tax regulations.
• Proven experience in processing federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and payments across various jurisdictions.
• Experience in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
• Solid customer service background with clients, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll tax, sales tax, or a related tax compliance position.
• Work sponsorship is not available for this position.
