This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct innovative economic research and analysis using Life360 data alongside external datasets to reveal fresh insights about families and the business landscape.
• Prepare benchmark reports and disseminate findings.
• Act as Life360's public representative on family behavior and consumer mobility trends, interacting with media and participating in industry events in collaboration with the Communications team.
• Develop consistent seasonal adjustment frameworks for retail and food service visit trends; manage the caveating methodology for data histories under three years.
• Create a pipeline of data-driven public relations narratives (specific to brands and categories) for the economic, consumer, and financial press.
• Identify opportunities where Life360's first-party data can establish a unique narrative perspective.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Ads, and the Data & Analytics teams to determine which data infrastructure investments yield the highest storytelling return on investment.
• Foster relationships with both internal and external subject matter experts, data scientists, and customers to uncover exclusive insights and stories.
• Uphold newsroom-level standards of accuracy, ethics, and sourcing.
• Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Demography, Quantitative Social Science, or a related quantitative discipline (PhD preferred, though strong experience may offset this requirement).
• Over 10 years of applied economics experience—ideally focused on consumer behavior, location data, or retail and mobility analytics.
• Proven track record in producing data-driven narratives for non-academic audiences such as media, investors, and policymakers.
• Ability to be resourceful. Familiarity with seasonal adjustment techniques (like X-13, STL, or similar) and a realistic understanding of when clean seasonal adjustments are not feasible.
• Capable of working with incomplete or short time series—knows how to caveat rather than merely model.
• Utilize AI to enhance your effectiveness. You'll use coding agents and automated analyses daily and influence the development of our AI-native analytics stack, contributing to our evolution from reactive to proactive to autonomous strategies.
• Comfortable being the authoritative source—whether in conversations with journalists under tight deadlines, on podcasts, or at conferences.
• Previous experience at a data-driven public relations organization (such as Ramp, Square, CB Insights, Apartment List, Zillow Economics), which has firsthand knowledge of successful data media programs, or a background in family and household economic research.
• Understanding of mobility or location data, particularly regarding panel bias, definitions of dwell time, and challenges with place matching.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Competitive salary and benefits package.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans (fully covered for employees).
• 401(k) plan with a company matching program.
• Mental Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support mental wellbeing.
• Flexible PTO, along with 13 company-wide days off throughout the year.
• Winter and Summer week-long synchronized company shutdowns.
• Opportunities for learning and development.
• Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote work environment.
• Complimentary Life360 Platinum Membership for your chosen circle.
• Free Tile products.
