This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Lead, manage, and nurture all staff involved in benefits and compensation, including the HRIS system, while promoting a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
• Continuously assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of Road Scholar's benefit programs, practices, and procedures, encompassing health & welfare programs, retirement plans, time-off programs, and other perks, aligning them with Road Scholar's strategic goals.
• Accountable for delivering top-notch service to Road Scholar employees by providing responsive assistance, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring thorough follow-through on benefits matters.
• Serve as the executive sponsor for significant initiatives related to benefits programs; create, propose, and implement new employee benefit programs to leverage competitive advantages.
• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness and utilization of existing programs; make recommendations and execute improvements as needed.
• Formulate the annual benefits budget based on changes in plan design and pricing/claims forecasts.
• Oversee and evaluate the services provided by benefits consultants, brokers, and other vendors.
• Ensure compliance of benefit plans with federal and state regulations and tax codes.
• Manage all renewals and the annual open enrollment process.
• Create, propose, and implement variable pay programs designed to enhance the connection between performance and pay.
• Plan, develop, and execute the administration of various employee compensation programs, including base pay, merit, incentive, and equity in an assigned geographic area or functional unit.
• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
• More than 10 years of experience in Human Resources management, specifically in overseeing compensation and/or benefit plan design and administration.
• Proven experience leading both disciplines for several years is required.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) is highly preferred.
• PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with benefit programs, brokers, and vendors for health, dental, life, and AD&D insurance, 403(b), and COBRA is essential.
• Proven organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills are necessary.
• Extensive experience managing a team of subordinate managers across various disciplines.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills (writing, editing, verbal, and presentation) are essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and HRIS systems is a must.
• Experience in conducting new hire orientations is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (collaboration, advanced problem-solving abilities, decision-making, and teamwork) with the capacity to uphold a high level of professionalism and strict confidentiality.
