Senior Director, Commercial Forecasting – Artificial Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of demand, revenue, and patient-flow forecasting throughout Immatics’ portfolio, from evaluating early pipeline opportunities to ensuring launch readiness and monitoring in-line performance.

• Act as the in-house AI specialist for the Commercial organization.

• Create and develop the Commercial AI strategy encompassing Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Field Operations.

• Identify, prioritize, and organize AI and generative-AI use cases across various domains, including analytics, forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, field enablement, content creation, promotional review preparation, account and KOL intelligence, payer and policy monitoring, and CRM data quality management.

• Design, develop, and manage AI-driven operating systems for daily Commercial operations.

• Revamp analytics workflows, which involve automated data ingestion and quality control, reconciliation, exception flagging, forecast and dashboard updates, self-service analytics, recurring reporting, insight generation, and agentic workflows.

• Assess AI platforms and vendors, conducting structured pilots based on defined success metrics.

• Provide well-founded recommendations on build-versus-buy decisions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional commercial teams and report to the VP of Commercial Analytics & Operations.

• Be prepared for approximately 10–15% travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 15 years of experience in life sciences consultancy, biotech, pharma, or a related field.

• At least 7 years of experience in forecasting, commercial analytics, or market insights.

• Proven expertise in developing patient-based and epidemiology-driven forecasting models for both pre-launch and in-line assets.

• Familiarity with pharma/biotech data sources such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, Komodo, Definitive Healthcare, specialty distributor data, 867/852 data, SEER, clinical registries, and syndicated market research.

• Hands-on experience in applying AI and large language models to address commercial issues in a regulated life sciences context.

• Practical knowledge of LLM platforms, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows.

• Understanding of PHI/HIPAA, GDPR, promotional reviews, data licensing conditions, and evolving AI regulations.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel modeling; working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Power BI/Tableau.

• Experience throughout the launch lifecycle in oncology, cell and gene therapy, rare diseases, or specialty/limited-distribution environments.

• Ability to work independently and convert quantitative and technical analyses into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

• Direct experience in forecasting for an autologous CAR-T, TCR-T, or other engineered cell therapy assets, including site activation and manufacturing-constrained demand models.

• Proven track record in establishing forecasting or commercial AI capabilities at a pre-commercial or newly commercial organization.

• Exposure to global forecasting and market access/pricing analytics specifically in specialty oncology.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
