This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of OpenLoop's compliance program and ensure demonstrable regulatory readiness across the various regimes that govern a multi-state telehealth organization.
• Report directly to the VP of Compliance, Healthcare, and act as the designated executive responsible for regulator-facing documentation.
• Establish and uphold all seven OIG elements as part of an effective and documented compliance program.
• Serve as the appointed compliance officer for regulators, payors, and auditors.
• Manage the lifecycle of policies and SOPs, including creation, version control, attestation, and retirement across OpenLoop subsidiaries.
• Maintain the governance framework and align policies with OIG and CMS controls.
• Oversee HIPAA Privacy and Security programs and handle breach responses through appropriate notification and documentation.
• Act as or directly assist the GDPR Data Protection Officer function.
• Supervise hotline and investigation activities, encompassing intake, triage, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and self-disclosure workflows.
• Manage exclusion and sanction screenings, conflict-of-interest processes, and tracking of Stark Law and non-monetary compensation.
• Design and implement compliance training programs for the workforce and clinician network.
• Lead compliance team leaders and oversee program administrators and analysts.
• Prepare reports for the board and leadership regarding program status, risk posture, and outstanding corrective actions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in healthcare compliance or health law.
• Experience in owning end-to-end compliance programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of the OIG Seven Elements framework.
• Proven experience in managing HIPAA Privacy and Security programs.
• Strong preference for experience with GDPR.
• Background in managing and developing a compliance team within a multi-state, technology-driven healthcare or pharmacy-adjacent environment.
• Preferred credentials include CHC, CHPC, CCEP, or equivalent compliance certifications.
• Possess executive presence and sound judgment.
• Comfortable being identified as the responsible executive in regulator-facing documentation.
• Demonstrate high integrity and the ability to collaborate effectively across Legal, Product, Security, and Clinical teams.
