Senior Director, Claims & Litigation Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Provides strategic and operational leadership to the claims and litigation management team.

• Implements best practices and supervises the financial performance of claims.

• Offers legal guidance and direction related to incidents and claims in risk management.

• Directly supervises and mentors Claims Directors.

• Collaborates with other risk management functions to mitigate the financial impact of liability risks.

• Oversees case assessments, mediations, and trials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.

• Expert-level knowledge of the principles, practices, and operations in the assigned or related area of responsibility, typically acquired through a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible managerial experience.

• At least two to three years of management-level experience within a healthcare system or large corporate environment.

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and admission to at least one state bar.

• Minimum of five to seven years of experience in medical professional liability management, either as an in-house claims professional or outside counsel.

• Must obtain admission to the AZ bar through reciprocity or in-house counsel provision.

• Proven history of achieving successful performance outcomes and meeting organizational objectives.

• Demonstrated skills and business acumen through direct leadership experiences.
