This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design and take charge of the operational cadence for the EVP and GM, Research, as well as the Business Management & Strategic Programs team.
• Facilitate weekly team meetings, executive sessions, monthly business reviews, and board reporting cycles.
• Act as a senior operating partner, trusted advisor, and credible representative for the VP.
• Foster accountability through initiative registers, commitment tracking, escalation of blockers, and ensuring follow-through.
• Lead high-priority special projects encompassing operating model design, cross-functional alignment, and sequencing of transformations.
• Prepare and ensure the quality of inputs for board decks, leadership briefings, and executive talking points.
• Establish and manage the Business Analytics function.
• Define and uphold KPI frameworks and proactive pipeline accountability mechanisms.
• Develop integrated executive dashboards that encompass pipeline, revenue, commercial signals, and operational performance.
• Utilize advanced analytics for revenue modeling, behavioral signals, and strategic impact analysis.
• Collaborate with Technology & Operations and AI & Data Analytics on data quality, governance, and infrastructure initiatives.
• Employ AI-augmented strategies to enhance analytics and reporting efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional programs by clearly defining scope, assembling teams, tracking milestones, and identifying blockers.
• Coordinate with Technology & Operations, AI & Data Analytics, Legal, and Finance.
• Mentor Research leadership teams through changes in operating models and governance.
• Transition validated initiatives into permanent organizational structures with appropriate documentation and handoff.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in business operations, analytics, strategy, or a combination of these fields.
• Ideal candidates will have experience in a senior executive-support or business management role within a large, matrixed organization.
• Proven track record of supporting P&L-owning or senior executive leaders.
• Experience in managing operating rhythms, cross-functional alignment, and executive communication.
• Strong analytical skills, including expertise in financial models, dashboards, and KPI frameworks.
• Capability to convert complex data into clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
• Ability to build and develop an analytics function from a limited foundation.
• Experience in defining data standards and influencing data engineering teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in preparing board-level materials and ghostwriting for senior executives.
• Skill in adapting narratives for various audiences.
• High tolerance for ambiguity and a strong bias for action.
• Ability to drive structured execution in the absence of a defined playbook.
• Experience managing complex, multi-workstream programs across functions that are not directly managed.
• An MBA or equivalent advanced degree, or comparable professional experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with academic publishing, research technology, open access models, or scientific information is preferred.
• Experience utilizing AI tools in operations, analytics, and reporting processes is preferred.
• Experience working across different time zones and cultures in a global organization is preferred.
