This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Senior Director, Bone Field Medical Affairs Lead is tasked with defining and implementing the U.S. field medical vision and strategy for the Bone therapeutic area.
• Supervise a national team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
• Promote excellence in field medical operations.
• Shape priorities for evidence generation by leveraging external insights.
• Affect decision-making at the franchise level.
• Lead and nurture a national Bone MSL organization, including direct oversight of MSL managers and/or regional directors.
• Develop organizational capabilities to meet current and future portfolio demands.
• Set performance standards, talent strategies, succession planning, and initiatives for leadership development.
• Foster strategic partnerships with recognized thought leaders, professional societies, healthcare systems, and academic institutions.
• Represent Amgen at significant scientific congresses and key external events.
• Doctorate degree & 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs OR Master’s degree & 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs OR Bachelor’s degree & 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs AND 4 years of managerial experience directly managing personnel and/or leadership experience in guiding teams, projects, programs, or directing resource allocation.
• An advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, or equivalent).
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, or basic science research with a focus on Bone or related diseases.
• A solid clinical foundation and extensive knowledge in osteoporosis and/or related disease areas.
• Extensive experience in Medical Affairs and leadership in field medical roles.
• Proven success in leading leaders and managing large, geographically diverse MSL teams.
• In-depth expertise in Bone, Osteoporosis, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, or similar therapeutic fields.
• Demonstrated capability to influence senior executives and promote enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Management and leadership experience, encompassing both direct and non-direct report responsibilities in complex, cross-functional environments.
