Senior Director, Architecture, Engineering, Innovation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and actively contribute to solutions within Azure infrastructure, Salesforce integrations, and .NET applications

• Take ownership of the integration architecture across various platforms, including CMS, CRM, LMS, identity, analytics, events, and commerce

• Develop and uphold reference architectures, technical standards, and integration guidelines

• Participate directly in critical technical decision-making

• Be responsible for the long-term vision of the technology platform

• Make and resolve architectural trade-offs based on various factors

• Prevent fragmentation within the architecture

• Ensure accountability for the scalability, reliability, security, and evolvability of the platform

• Lead a focused, high-trust team of engineers

• Foster a culture where technical craftsmanship, ownership, and open communication are prioritized

• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate roadmaps into architecturally robust strategies

• Provide early architectural insights during the discovery and planning phases

• Confirm that technology strategy effectively supports business outcomes

• Oversee AVIXA's enterprise AI strategy

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is strongly preferred

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, platform engineering, or senior technical leadership roles

• Demonstrated hands-on technical contributions alongside architectural responsibilities, not one without the other

• Proven track record of aligning technology strategy with business and product outcomes

• Experience in leading and developing technical teams, including responsibilities for hiring, mentoring, and performance management

• Familiarity with contemporary AI tools and considerations for enterprise AI adoption
