This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop distinct, defensible, and highly consumable business and technology insights that directly address the AI priorities and opportunities for finance leaders.
• Act as a leading authority on finance AI subjects, including the impact of AI technologies on the finance function, establishing AI pilots, scaling initiatives, ensuring proper governance of finance AI tools, navigating the Finance AI vendor landscape, and exploring finance AI use cases involving traditional, generative, and agentic AI techniques, as well as connecting AI to finance process automation and comprehensive finance transformation.
• Remain informed about external trends in artificial intelligence pertinent to finance audiences.
• Generate innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have” insights.
• Formulate new insights and ideas through thought leadership, providing compelling and actionable approaches to meet clients' needs and requests, thereby accelerating their decision-making processes.
• Conduct in-depth analysis to uncover the root causes of a client’s challenges or overall needs and reframe thinking to advance strategy.
• Exhibit thought leadership by establishing insight positions across a team of analysts.
• Deliver provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can influence the direction of research agendas.
• Research, analyze, and forecast market trends and shifts to offer clients and vendors actionable insights.
• Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned with their designated content area through virtual or face-to-face interactions.
• Create and present high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings.
• Offer sales support as the voice of the market to assist Insights teams in content creation and boost client engagement to advance their critical business priorities.
• Deliver high-quality and timely peer content reviews.
• Establish credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy.
• Actively engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating effectively with peers within the Insights community.
• Identify improvements in research processes or develop new processes that enhance the team's and BTI's service delivery.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.
• Maintain a client-centric focus while actively striving to help clients engage frequently with Gartner insights and interactions.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10-12+ years of relevant field or industry experience in finance functions and technology topics, with at least 2 years focused on AI for finance, demonstrating increased scope and responsibility.
• Career exposure to major finance processes and workflows, data sources, and technologies.
• Experience with deploying AI functionality in embedded tools and developing homegrown or company-specific AI solutions.
• Familiarity with data science, quantitative analytics, statistics, probabilistic decision-making, and coding languages (preferably Python).
• Exhibit executive presence; able to establish credibility with executives and other stakeholders immediately.
• Strong organizational skills; capable of working under tight deadlines and producing high-quality deliverables.
• Demonstrate excellence in research and writing abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and presentation capabilities; able to engage clients and respond effectively to inquiries.
• Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; capable of applying patterns and frameworks while formulating and defending conclusions to client challenges.
• Effective communicator who can explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
• Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Extensive knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area and the interplay within that market.
• Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others in a multicultural global environment.
• Learning agility and adeptness in navigating highly matrixed environments.
• Ability to represent Gartner's research methodologies and strategies effectively at all levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (where applicable).
