Senior DevSecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensure continuous observability and effective monitoring of production infrastructure and applications.

• Evaluate system health and performance, troubleshoot problems, and resolve incidents.

• Conduct weekly updates and patching of the application factory and its underlying infrastructure.

• Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot both Linux and Windows systems.

• Implement patches, upgrades, and system hardening measures to mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Identify and alleviate risks while ensuring adherence to security policies and best practices.

• Automate environment configurations during the build process.

• Design and uphold Infrastructure as Code workflows utilizing Packer, Terraform, Ansible, and scripts.

• Update, patch, and perform cyber reviews for self-hosted Amazon AMIs.

• Manage and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with development teams to guarantee pipeline uptime and seamless usage.

• Implement security controls such as RBAC, secure namespaces, and monitoring/auditing practices.

• Work alongside development, operations, and cybersecurity teams to design and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with five (5) years or more of experience; Master's degree with three (3) years or more of experience; or PhD with no related experience but six years of overall experience.

• Security+ Certification is required.

• An active Secret Clearance is mandatory.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or comparable alternatives.

• Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong skills in Bash, Python, and PowerShell.

• In-depth knowledge of Linux, including RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu, along with a working understanding of Windows Server environments.

• Experience managing AWS cloud environments is essential.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, including DoD STIGs, NIST, and CIS benchmarks.
