DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +7 more countries.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance core technologies for highly available, distributed customer services.

• Design, implement, and manage large-scale, multi-cloud Kubernetes infrastructure.

• Utilize GitOps methodologies in your workflow.

• Automate manual tasks and improve existing automation processes.

• Manage production workloads on both managed and self-managed Kubernetes platforms.

• Participate in a low-volume pager rotation for on-call support.

• Act as a subject matter expert in Kubernetes and infrastructure operations.

• Diagnose complex issues both independently and in collaboration with others.

• Engage in incident response activities; experience as an incident commander is a plus.

• Foster respectful collaboration across various engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven production-level experience with Kubernetes and its associated ecosystems, including Istio, Vault, and other Cloud Native technologies.

• Familiarity with Terraform and other automation tools.

• Practical experience with production workloads on managed and self-managed Kubernetes platforms.

• Knowledge of DevOps patterns encompassing compute, storage, database, and network domains.

• Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Willingness to be part of a low-volume pager rotation.

• Capability to act as a subject matter expert in Kubernetes, infrastructure, and operational best practices.

• Strong methodical troubleshooting skills.

• Bonus: experience in maintaining and operating a SaaS environment.

• Bonus: experience as an incident commander.

• Bonus: exposure to CI/CD practices, particularly with CircleCI or GitHub Actions.

• Bonus: experience in automating processes.

• Bonus: experience working within a remote-first, distributed team setting.

• Bonus: familiarity with applications developed in Go and/or Rust.
