Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in discovery, design for migration, automation, pilot migrations, migration phases, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization tasks.

• Strategize and carry out migrations for GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations.

• Transfer GitHub repositories, workflows, runners, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Assist in the migration and reconfiguration of GitHub Actions and related CI/CD systems.

• Migrate and verify GitHub Apps, webhooks, OAuth integrations, and OIDC settings.

• Develop automation for migration processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Provide support for AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes/EKS, Jenkins, and related platform integrations.

• Diagnose migration issues and maintain platform stability during and post-migration.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to guarantee successful execution and validation of migrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with substantial recent experience in GitHub and CI/CD.

• Extensive hands-on experience managing GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations at an enterprise level, encompassing repositories, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Demonstrated experience in large-scale GitHub repository and workflow migrations, including GitHub Actions, runners, and workflow adjustments.

• Familiarity with OIDC, GitHub Apps, webhooks, and OAuth integrations.

• Strong proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure automation practices.

• Experience in designing and migrating CI/CD pipelines and platforms, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and AWS infrastructure.

• Scripting and automation capabilities using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Practical experience throughout the complete migration lifecycle, including discovery, design, automation, pilot migration, migration phases, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization.

• Background in migration projects involving hundreds or thousands of repositories.

• Familiarity with GitOps and FluxCD.

• Experience with AWS CodeBuild.

• Knowledge of Git submodules and complex repository dependencies.

• Experience with SSO/identity migration and migration tools.
