This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Platform and infrastructure operations: Assist in managing and maintaining the Kubernetes-based hosting environment and AWS infrastructure that supports client Drupal and Laravel applications.
• Environment migration and configuration: Aid in migrating and configuring client applications into new Kubernetes environments, establishing, tuning, and validating environments as the setup evolves.
• Incident response and on-call: Participate in responding to outages and security incidents, including detection, containment, remediation, and reporting. Daily monitoring of alerts to ensure all issues are addressed. Engage in incident fire drills to maintain sharp response skills.
• CI/CD and deployments: Carry out go-lives for new and re-platformed sites, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and enhance deployment workflows.
• Security, access, and compliance: Assist in managing identity and access across Google Workspace, Atlassian, hosting, and version control. Support staff onboarding and secure offboarding, including device management. Contribute to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance efforts by maintaining controls, evidence, and audit readiness. Operate within segregated environment boundaries, where access to specific systems is restricted due to compliance and client contractual obligations.
• Monitoring and observability: Sustain, enhance, and establish monitoring and alerting systems to catch issues before they are noticed by clients.
• Domains, DNS, and SSL: Address DNS challenges and oversee the lifecycle of domain and SSL/TLS certificates for both client and internal domains.
• Backup and disaster recovery: Conduct backup restoration tests and quarterly disaster recovery drills, ensuring recovery in under one hour.
• Cost and vendor management: Assist in tracking SaaS and infrastructure expenditures, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing renewals.
• Automation and workflow: Drive down the automation backlog by transforming manual runbooks into scripted, repeatable workflows and applying AI where beneficial.
• Proficient in Linux systems administration with strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Strong instinct for automation and a clear understanding of workflow design: you recognize repetitive processes and seek ways to automate them.
• Hands-on experience with workflow and automation tools (e.g., n8n or similar).
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads (the hosting platform is based on Kubernetes, making this a core requirement).
• Experience in migrating and configuring workloads across Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with containerized hosting and cloud infrastructure, specifically Docker and AWS.
• Experience operating CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines are utilized here).
• A composed, systematic approach to incident response and production troubleshooting under pressure.
• Strong judgement regarding security and access control, adopting a least-privilege mindset.
• Exposure to compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2, along with the discipline to maintain controls and evidence.
• Comfortable working within governed access restrictions, where certain environments are access-limited for compliance and contractual reasons.
• The ability and independence to manage a platform of this nature largely on your own while collaborating within a small team and adhering to its governance.
• Capable of providing concrete examples of where you’ve implemented automation or AI in a DevOps setting and articulating its impact.
• Personal projects, side builds, or a home lab that showcase your passion for automation.
• Practical application of AI tools in daily operational tasks.
• Familiarity with hosting Drupal and/or Laravel applications.
• Experience with managed Kubernetes hosting services.
• Familiarity with on-call/alerting tools (e.g., OpsGenie), JAMF, and administration in Atlassian / Google Workspace.
• A history of automating repetitive operational tasks.
• Experience contributing to ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits and certification processes.
• Knowledge of DNS, SSL/TLS, and domain lifecycle management.
• Comprehensive health and wellness plans.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
• Flexible work arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance.
• Collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Access to modern tools and technologies to enhance productivity.
