This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide support for cloud-based software applications, network configurations, supporting services, and hosting platforms.
• Act as the primary point of contact for designated applications, addressing or escalating complex system issues with users/clients, internal IT personnel, and vendor IT staff.
• Implement, manage, automate, and scale cloud technical computing services for product development teams.
• Create automation tools to assist software development and infrastructure operations teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and install or test upgrades and customizations.
• Monitor the performance of systems and applications, alerting when necessary, and proactively enhancing performance.
• Engage in and lead technical on-call services for prompt incident resolution.
• Utilize continuous deployment tools to ensure seamless deployment across various environments.
• Define changes in cloud application environments and guide Associate Engineers in implementing new technology solutions.
• Oversee the documentation of application systems, process flows, and support processes.
• Facilitate process-review meetings to identify requirements or needs.
• Mentor colleagues on engineering best practices and technical excellence.
• Document processes through research, planning, and supporting documentation.
• Communicate information systems' opportunities and limitations to management.
• Suggest technologies, methodologies, and best practices to address challenges and alleviate pain points.
• Minimize developer friction in deploying products to production.
• Participate in regulatory and compliance activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience; or an Associate's degree with relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps or a similar role is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of application development and project life cycles, along with experience using engineering software design tools.
• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• In-depth understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Significant DevOps experience with a cloud-native web application hosted on one of the three major cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or CVS.
• Extensive experience with databases and operating systems.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing a continuous integration pipeline (CI/CD), including Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in setting up and managing a Web Application Firewall.
• Knowledge of containerization, microservices, orchestration, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Ability to conduct thorough research into software-related issues and products.
• Capability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to be available for on-call rotations outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends during critical production releases or issue escalation periods.
