Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +15 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and manage infrastructure through automation.

• Oversee the existing infrastructure while spearheading the migration to AWS.

• Create applications that enhance the productivity of software engineers, reducing overhead, including tools that integrate AI agents into the development and operations workflow.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to architect and deploy applications in a secure and highly available manner.

• Utilize Spec Driven Development practices to convert requirements into clear, testable specifications prior to implementation, including for AI-assisted and agent-driven workflows.

• Provide ongoing support and modernization for the WordPress Bring A Trailer website and its backends.

• Diagnose and resolve root causes of issues within a complex environment.

• Offer 24/7 on-call support on a rotating schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in deploying and supporting high-traffic, scalable web applications and services.

• 5 years of experience in the AWS serverless ecosystem, including Cognito, Lambdas, Step Functions, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient in Terraform, or TypeScript and the AWS CDK.

• Strong scripting skills (Linux, Unix shell scripts, Python, Ruby, etc.).

• Hands-on experience with Configuration Management and Deployment tools.

• Expertise in CI/CD tools on AWS native services as well as third-party tools.

• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and proficiency in GIT.

• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Define AWS Multi-Account strategies based on SLDC practices utilizing Amazon Organizations.

• Experience in integrating SCM, Code Quality, Code Coverage, and Testing tools for CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with application and infrastructure monitoring tools.

• Experience using the pricing calculator to accurately forecast AWS billing based on usage.

• Practical experience in working with AI coding agents and agentic engineering workflows (e.g., agent-driven code generation, automated review, agent-orchestrated operational tasks) as part of a contemporary software delivery pipeline.

• Knowledge of Spec Driven Development — creating and maintaining specifications that guide implementation, testing, and AI agent behavior.
