This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collaborate with the Head of Platform and Head of SRE to pinpoint enhancements in the platform infrastructure and execute plans to address these improvements.
• Work alongside the Platform teams to elevate the maturity of all system components, ensuring High Availability, thorough testing, and disaster recovery plans are in place.
• Contribute to the advancement of our CI/CD pipelines and establish deployment patterns.
• Support incident response and resolution, followed by post-mortem analysis and retrospectives.
• Engage in tech talks and team-based learning to facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Maintain thorough documentation, utilizing Playbooks/Runbooks and systems documentation to promote knowledge transfer.
• Significant experience in DevOps Engineering and managing a large-scale platform.
• Extensive experience with distributed cloud systems, particularly Amazon Web Services.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.
• Knowledge of relational database technologies and their cloud equivalents (e.g., AWS Aurora).
• Familiarity with messaging and distributed asynchronous workloads.
• Experience with nginx or similar web server technologies.
• Proficient in using monitoring tools like DataDog, Prometheus, or equivalent.
• A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
• A collaborative team player willing to assist others when necessary, with a driven personality who engages in discussions and asks questions.
• Strong written and verbal English skills to effectively present ideas.
