Senior Demo Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage a standardized demonstration platform for efficiently provisioning and maintaining demo environments at scale.

• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation solutions for the creation, updates, resets, and dismantling of environments.

• Construct CI/CD workflows that ensure demo environments remain in sync with release cycles, configurations, and feature flags.

• Create and uphold “golden” demo templates (reference deployments) with realistic configurations and safe, reusable seed data.

• Enhance reliability and user experience for field teams through observability, alerting mechanisms, runbooks, and self-service tools.

• Establish access controls and adhere to security best practices for demo environments, including necessary secrets management and audit capabilities.

• Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Product teams to support demo use cases, minimize friction, and accelerate time-to-demo.

• Identify and resolve issues across the entire stack (infrastructure, networking, application configuration, data), serving as an escalation point for complex demo platform challenges.

• Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor demo health (availability, provisioning times, failure rates, usage) and promote continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering roles.

• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure) and automation on a large scale.

• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent).

• Experience in building and managing CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).

• Practical experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) along with environment lifecycle management.

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or equivalent) for automating platform workflows and troubleshooting processes.

• Proven track record of supporting internal customers (e.g., Sales Engineers, field teams) with production-grade reliability and well-defined operational processes.
