This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee, monitor, and sustain Oracle 11g/12c/19c/21c and Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 databases across production, staging, and development environments.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade both database platforms as needed.
• Manage database security, including user roles, privileges, and access controls.
• Design, configure, and maintain disaster recovery solutions utilizing Oracle Data Guard and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.
• Conduct disaster recovery drills, failover/switchover testing, and document RTO/RPO compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues related to replication lag, synchronization, and disaster recovery failover incidents.
• Manage and support databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Base Database Service, Exadata Cloud Service, and Autonomous Database as required.
• Provision OCI DBCS and oversee backup configuration, patching, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with OCI networking, storage, and security components for database hosting.
• Perform SQL query tuning, execution plan analysis, index optimization, and instance-level performance tuning.
• Monitor and optimize memory, I/O, and wait events; proactively address performance bottlenecks.
• Execute database cloning using RMAN duplicate, Data Pump, and SQL Server backup/restore methods.
• Carry out database refreshes between Production and UAT/Dev environments, including data masking when necessary.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Oracle DB Links and SQL Server Linked Servers.
• Oversee backup and recovery strategies and confirm recovery readiness.
• Maintain configuration documentation, disaster recovery runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Work collaboratively with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams regarding database requirements.
• Participate in on-call or rotational support duties as needed.
• 9+ years of hands-on DBA experience with a profound understanding of both Oracle and MS SQL Server.
• Extensive experience in setting up and managing disaster recovery solutions, including Data Guard, Always On, Log Shipping, or equivalent.
• Proficient knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for database hosting and management.
• Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning at the query, instance, and infrastructure levels.
• Practical experience with database cloning and refresh processes.
• Strong understanding of database links, linked servers, and cross-platform connectivity.
• Solid knowledge of backup/recovery tools, including RMAN and native SQL Server backup/restore utilities.
• Good understanding of database security, patching, and upgrade methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution capabilities under production pressure.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Oracle OCP or Microsoft SQL Server certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with Exadata or Autonomous Database is preferred.
• Scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, or Python are preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as OEM, SolarWinds, or Zabbix is preferred.
• Experience in a managed services or multi-client support environment is preferred.
