Senior Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration, configuration, performance optimization, and intricate troubleshooting in production settings for MySQL and PostgreSQL.

• Supervise, monitor, and scale databases hosted on Amazon AWS, with a primary focus on RDS (Relational Database Service).

• Create and execute efficient data migration and replication strategies from transactional systems to the Datalake utilizing AWS DMS (Data Migration Service).

• Collaborate in designing the architecture of real-time data pipelines using data streaming tools like Kafka or Kinesis.

• Engage actively in data validation, integrity assurance, and discrepancy analysis between source systems and analytical repositories.

• Establish optimal data modeling and structures that influence the Datalake and satellite systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated senior-level experience as a DBA (Database Administrator), preferably within the Fintech industry or complex corporate environments managing large data volumes.

• Extensive experience and advanced proficiency in administration, query/index optimization, and troubleshooting in MySQL (Required) and PostgreSQL.

• Advanced management skills in AWS infrastructure, particularly RDS and AWS DMS (Required), with additional knowledge of S3, Redshift, and Athena being advantageous.

• Proficient in English, both spoken and written (B2 level or higher).

• Exceptional communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and analytical skills to independently resolve critical infrastructure challenges.

• Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

• Practical experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or similar).

• Hands-on familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.

• Insight into the retail business model and its related transactional dynamics.
