Senior Data Scientist – GenAI/ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate across various functions on strategic initiatives, assisting different departments in recognizing and developing AI-driven solutions.

• Partner with project managers, business teams, data engineering, and technology teams.

• Analyze the project backlog to uncover opportunities for applying AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI.

• Engage in defining technical solutions, contributing to architecture, solution design, and the selection of technologies and models.

• Create solutions utilizing Machine Learning, predictive models, and Generative AI.

• Develop AI applications and components utilizing Python and best Software Engineering practices.

• Investigate and develop GenAI/LLM applications, including integration with AI services and resources in Azure and Databricks.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and data preparation, formulate hypotheses, train and assess models, and enhance them continuously.

• Implement and deploy models and applications in cloud environments.

• Construct and improve Machine Learning and MLOps pipelines, from development and testing to deployment and monitoring.

• Work with Azure, Databricks, MLflow, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Contribute to the definition and advancement of data and AI solution architecture.

• Ensure adherence to best practices in development, version control, documentation, testing, and maintenance.

• Keep abreast of the advancements in AI technologies and identify new tools, models, and applications.

• Act as a technical reference in Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and GenAI.

• Fulfill other duties associated with the department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning Engineering.

• Strong practical experience with Python and SQL.

• Experience in developing Machine Learning and predictive models.

• Familiarity with Generative AI and LLMs, preferably in enterprise applications.

• Hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks.

• Knowledge of and experience with MLOps, including MLflow, Docker, pipelines, and model deployment.

• Experience in applying Software Engineering practices to data and AI solutions.

• Understanding of solution architecture, APIs, systems integration, and application development.

• Experience covering the complete AI solution development lifecycle: from problem understanding and data analysis to modeling, development, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Knowledge of Machine Learning libraries and frameworks such as Scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent.

• Familiarity with CI/CD environments, Git, and code version control.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with Azure AI/Azure AI Studio; advanced experience with Databricks; development of GenAI/LLM applications; Deep Learning; time-series models; systems optimization; Feature Store and Model Serving; experience in the industrial, mining, or metallurgical sectors; IoT (MQTT, LoRa, and OPC UA); Microsoft DP-100, Databricks Machine Learning Associate, or related certifications.
