Senior Data Scientist – Credit Policies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive design, hypothesis testing, simulation, and optimization of business rules and strategies across the customer lifecycle.

• Develop and implement advanced data analysis, optimization, and scenario simulation techniques, including backtesting and stress testing.

• Evaluate the financial implications of modifications to business rules prior to their implementation in production.

• Construct, calibrate, and improve decision-making strategies and rules for credit origination/onboarding, dynamic credit-limit management, pricing, portfolio maintenance, and collections.

• Engage with and contribute to policy simulation frameworks, A/B testing, and Champion/Challenger methodologies, along with routine modularization and analytical structures for presentations.

• Track the performance of decision-making flows and strategies through business and risk metrics, suggesting necessary adjustments.

• Utilize decision algorithms, machine learning, and mathematical optimization to create dynamic, personalized strategies.

• Integrate Artificial Intelligence and automation tools into daily operations.

• Collaborate with Risk, Fraud Prevention, and Finance teams, translating analyses into actionable technical recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in structuring and optimizing credit risk strategies, with hands-on experience in Data Science within financial institutions, fintechs, credit bureaus, or consulting firms.

• Advanced skills in programming languages for data analysis and Data Science.

• Proficient in programming languages with practical experience in Big Data environments for extracting, cleaning, and generating analytical variables.

• Significant practical experience in predictive modeling related to policy development.

• Experience in designing and assessing A/B tests.

• Familiarity with classification and regression algorithms.

• Expertise in constrained optimization and simulations.

• Strong understanding of Credit P&L, Risk-Adjusted Return, Loss Provision, NPL, LTV, vintages, and roll rates.
