This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design and implement sophisticated Machine Learning and Deep Learning models to analyze, extract, and interpret text along with intricate chemical structures from unstructured, scanned PDF documents.
• Construct and enhance Large Language Model (LLM) applications, utilizing vector databases to facilitate semantic search, advanced data analysis, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Manage the comprehensive machine learning lifecycle, encompassing data preprocessing (particularly for chemical data and OCR outputs), model training, evaluation, deployment, and post-deployment monitoring.
• Leverage your knowledge in chemistry to convert molecular structures, diagrams, and chemical data into machine-readable formats, embeddings, and actionable insights.
• Implement scalable, secure, and production-ready AI/ML pipelines within the AWS ecosystem, ensuring optimal performance and high availability.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, and domain experts to integrate ML models into the primary product architecture and align with business objectives.
• Over 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Data Scientist, showcasing a history of delivering production-grade machine learning models.
• A solid foundation in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a closely related scientific discipline, with proven skills in interpreting and manipulating complex chemical structures and data types.
• Advanced expertise in Python and significant hands-on experience with the AWS cloud ecosystem (e.g., SageMaker, Lambda, S3, EC2).
• Practical experience working with LLMs (including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or API integration) and vector databases (such as Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, or Qdrant).
• Strong background in model development, validation, deployment, and evaluation frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
• Previous exposure to Computer Vision, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), or Document AI systems is highly beneficial due to the focus on scanned PDF documents.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, outstanding communication skills, and the capacity to excel in a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary project environment.
• You'll be part of a growing ecosystem where client engagements, thought leadership, research collaborations, and mentorship opportunities are interconnected. This is a place to amplify your influence, whether through building solutions or nurturing emerging talent.
• Our culture is rooted in openness, continuous learning, and engineering excellence. You'll collaborate with experienced practitioners who prioritize smart execution and collective growth.
• We emphasize impact-driven work over hours invested. Whether you're engaging in a client project, innovation sprint, or open-source initiative, autonomy, ownership, and curiosity are highly encouraged.
• We believe that communities are most effective when founded on real practitioners. Our Innovation Community serves not just as a forum for knowledge-sharing but also as a launchpad for members to spearhead new projects, co-develop tools, and influence the trajectory of AI itself.
