Senior Data Scientist, AI Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete AI product lifecycle: from identifying user challenges and establishing KPIs to training foundational models and assessing real-world impact.

• Design and implement thorough experiments (A/B tests, causal inference) to validate new AI features and enhance product performance.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to convert business objectives into a technical AI roadmap, ensuring model development aligns with user requirements and technical feasibility.

• Develop and sustain production-quality training pipelines and evaluation frameworks using reproducible, well-tested coding practices.

• Evaluate production feedback and user interactions to continuously improve models and maximize value.

• Cultivate a collaborative environment: mentor colleagues, simplify complex issues, and promote iterative, high-impact delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong product intuition: establish success metrics, convert ambiguous business goals into measurable hypotheses, and assess product impact via A/B testing and causal inference.

• Experience in product analytics to extract actionable insights that guide product roadmaps.

• Demonstrated ability to translate model outputs into business results; adept at conveying technical insights to cross-functional partners (PMs, designers, engineers) to ensure alignment.

• Background in designing, training, and deploying production AI models, with expertise in transformer architectures and large language models (LLMs).

• Robust understanding of fundamentals (attention, tokenization, embeddings, regularization) and failure mode analysis.

• Knowledge of fine-tuning methods (LoRA, adapters), knowledge distillation, quantization, and instruction tuning.
