Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of statistical and machine learning models for the FALCON initiative

• Develop models aimed at identifying kinematic behaviors through live and historical data

• Conduct simulations to guide strategies for integrating analytics into the system

• Assist in the development and maintenance of mission-oriented software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical functions

• Design and enhance software applications, maintain custom solutions, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation

• Lead teams in crafting analytical solutions that fulfill client requirements

• Improve analytical solutions for quality and efficiency

• Merge data from various sources to establish a unified operating picture

• Choose and apply statistical analyses and scoring metrics to assess algorithm performance

• Generate training and testing datasets from diverse sources

• Execute data cleansing, validation, and ETL processes

• Create analytical reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences

• Implement data visualization for analysis, presentations, and end-user interface needs

• Conduct feature engineering, classifier optimization, event forecasting, and anomaly detection

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to clarify data science mission requirements

• Develop documentation detailing data science methodologies, findings, and strategies

• Select and deploy machine learning algorithms to enhance or compete with existing solutions

• Work alongside software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders in an agile, remote-first setting

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a citizen of the United States

• Active Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability

• Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field with over 5 years of industry experience in data science, or a Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of experience

• More than 7 years of professional experience applying machine learning techniques to time series and/or geospatial data

• Over 7 years of professional experience with databases/data file systems such as PostgreSQL and HDFS

• More than 7 years of experience with version control systems like Git

• At least 7 years of professional experience in time series event forecasting

• Proficient in Python, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and SciPy

• Experience in processing, cleaning, and analyzing time series and/or geospatial data

• Strong statistical foundation in statistical testing, regression, and probability

• Experience in correlating data from various sensors into a single track

• Ability to comprehend and integrate new machine learning algorithms and technologies

• Experience in scoring and evaluating algorithm performance

• Proficient in visualizing multi-source, multi-dimensional data and analytical results

• Experience in conducting feasibility research for models and algorithm development in machine learning

• Extensive experience with diverse machine learning algorithms and methodologies

• Experience collaborating in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Preferred: PhD

• Preferred: Over 3 years of professional experience with deep learning technologies (PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow)

• Preferred: Over 3 years of professional experience with radar data
