Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Analyze and investigate current detection logic that is based on multiple interconnected signals and rule-based expressions.

• Comprehend and map intricate data flows, processing pipelines, and dependencies across enterprise systems.

• Identify redundancies, inefficiencies, and unnecessary complexities within existing detection frameworks.

• Suggest simplification and optimization strategies while maintaining detection quality and operational effectiveness.

• Perform exploratory analysis on large and complex datasets to validate hypotheses and aid in decision-making.

• Evaluate downstream implications and operational risks of suggested changes before they are implemented.

• Convert analytical insights into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, and security researchers to gather context and independently resolve obstacles.

• Function effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and short delivery timelines.

• Contribute to the enhancement of analytical methodologies and strategies within the newly forming team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar analytical roles.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.

• Experience managing large-scale and complex datasets.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to independently structure ambiguous issues.

• Demonstrated experience driving investigations from hypothesis formulation to data-supported conclusions.

• Strong engineering mindset with the capability to comprehend and reason about complex logic and codebases.

• Ability to assess system behavior and understand the downstream consequences of analytical decisions.

• Experience collaborating across functions with engineering and research teams.

• Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Familiarity with JavaScript.

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Background in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or risk analytics domains.

• Experience working with rule-based systems or detection pipelines.

• Exposure to enterprise-scale analytics platforms.

• Understanding of data pipeline architecture and signal processing systems.
