Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive machine learning solutions utilizing Azure Machine Learning (Azure ML).

• Construct, train, assess, and enhance models using techniques such as classification, regression, and advanced analytics.

• Partner with data engineers to identify and utilize curated datasets from Azure Synapse, ADLS, and Azure SQL.

• Create scalable feature engineering and model training pipelines.

• Operationalize ML models by employing MLOps practices, which include versioning, monitoring, and retraining strategies.

• Convert business challenges into analytical solutions and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.

• Handle large datasets using Python, SQL, and distributed processing frameworks.

• Contribute to the development of analytics and AI architectures within Azure ecosystems.

• Apply best practices for model explainability, reproducibility, and governance.

• Assist in visualization and insight delivery through Power BI or comparable tools.

• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to promote data-driven decision-making.

• Engage in client interactions, covering discovery, experimentation, and solution design phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics roles.

• Strong practical experience with:

• Azure Machine Learning (Azure ML)

• Azure Synapse Analytics

• Azure Data Lake / Blob Storage

• Proficient programming skills in Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, PySpark).

• Strong SQL skills and experience in handling large datasets.

• Experience in building and deploying ML models in production settings.

• Understanding of data pipelines and collaboration with data engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and best practices in version control.

• Ability to work autonomously and make practical technical decisions.

• Excellent communication skills in English, with a talent for clarifying complex concepts.

• Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with MLOps frameworks and model lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with Databricks or distributed ML workflows.

• Experience with experiment tracking and model monitoring tools.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for ML solutions.

• Exposure to design tools such as Miro or Figma for collaborative workstreams.

• Experience in regulated or data-sensitive environments.

• Prior participation in client-facing data science or discovery projects.
