Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Teams: Engage directly with departments such as Finance, Customer Success, and Product to grasp their data requirements, serve as their thought partner, and provide impactful solutions.

• Develop and Implement Solutions: Design and deploy data-driven tools and automation for both our customers and internal operations.

• Establish and Monitor Key Metrics: Assist teams in defining meaningful success metrics and create data products that facilitate their tracking.

• Balance Speed and Precision: Identify when to act swiftly with a practical solution and when to invest in building the optimal system - and communicate these trade-offs effectively to stakeholders.

• Promote Data Utilization: Develop clear documentation, conduct training sessions, and serve as the in-house expert to help teams utilize data tools more efficiently within their workflows.

• Elevate Standards: Contribute to and advance data science standards and practices throughout the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment.

• Over 5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Proficient in Python and SQL; comfortable navigating the complete analytics stack.

• Familiarity with statistical methods and machine learning algorithms (such as regression, classification, clustering, gradient boosting, topic modeling, etc.) - along with the discernment to know when to apply them.

• Practical experience with contemporary data and analytics platforms (dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, Tableau, Omni, QuickSight, or similar).

• Proven ability to deliver across the full spectrum - from quick ad hoc reports to comprehensive company-wide dashboards.

• Exceptional communication skills; demonstrated capability to convey technical findings to non-technical audiences.

• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and other AI tools for analytics is a plus!
