Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and execute sophisticated fraud detection models utilizing machine learning and statistical methods to recognize and prevent fraudulent activities on our platform.

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and operations, to create and implement fraud detection systems and processes.

• Examine extensive datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies that signify fraudulent behavior, and generate data-driven insights to enhance fraud prevention strategies.

• Assess the efficacy of current fraud detection models and systems, continuously refining and updating them to keep pace with evolving fraud trends and tactics.

• Remain informed about the latest developments in fraud detection, data science, and machine learning, applying this knowledge to strengthen our fraud prevention efforts.

• Convey intricate data analyses and model performance findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all facets of fraud detection and data analysis.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, specifically focusing on fraud prevention and/or anti-money laundering.

• Proficient in Python.

• Familiarity with cloud development (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and MLOps is preferred.

• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques, especially their application in fraud detection.

• Experience handling large datasets with distributed systems like Apache Spark and Dask, addressing data-related challenges such as data cleaning, quality assurance, and transformation, along with feature engineering at scale.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of extracting actionable insights from complex datasets.

• Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
