• Develop and enhance forecasting models for site randomization and enrollment trends, facilitating improved planning and resource allocation across trial sites.
• Assist in projects aimed at creating algorithms that intelligently match patients to suitable clinical trials or rank them accordingly, thereby increasing recruitment efficiency and patient inclusion.
• Design and refine predictive models (including Bayesian inference, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting) to tackle key challenges in clinical trials and improve decision-making processes.
• Establish processes for monitoring machine learning models in production, identifying bias or performance drift to ensure that models remain fair, accurate, and compliant.
• Construct and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows utilizing tools such as AWS Athena, Redshift, SageMaker, and dbt, to facilitate scalable model training and deployment.
• Ensure that all data science practices comply with HIPAA, GDPR, and other privacy regulations, incorporating compliance considerations into model development and data management.
• Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate models into products and effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
• A minimum of a Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least 5+ years of practical experience in data science or analytics, preferably within healthcare, clinical research, or another highly regulated data environment.
• A solid foundation in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques, with experience in Bayesian methods, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting.
• Proficient in evaluating model performance and bias, with the capability to implement AI monitoring tools and bias mitigation strategies to ensure ethical and reliable outcomes.
• Advanced programming skills in Python (including libraries such as scikit-learn, PyMC, mlforecast, etc.) and SQL, along with familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt.
• Practical experience with cloud-based analytics and machine learning services, particularly AWS tools (Athena for querying, Redshift for data warehousing, SageMaker for model development and deployment).
• Experience handling sensitive healthcare or clinical trial data in accordance with regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR, demonstrating a strong commitment to data privacy and security best practices.
• Exceptional teamwork and meticulous verbal/written communication skills, with a proven record of collaborating with engineering and product teams to translate data science work into actionable business solutions.
