Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Oversee the implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for a significant transformation initiative within the insurance sector.

• Align business goals with data science execution and ensure high-quality delivery.

• Stay actively engaged in the development of models and the design of technical solutions.

• Collaborate with the offshore team to guarantee the quality of deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 – 8 years of experience in advanced analytics or data science.

• Prior experience in the insurance sector (P&C, Life, Health, Group Benefits, or Claims) is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end machine learning solutions in production settings.

• Strong practical experience with Python (including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM).

• Proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms (including classification, regression, and segmentation).

• Comprehensive understanding of feature engineering applied to transactional and behavioral data.

• Knowledge of techniques for handling imbalanced classification.

• Skills in model evaluation, stability assessment, and drift monitoring.

• Experience with SQL and managing large-scale datasets.
