Master's Fellow – Data Scientist, NLP, Semantic Search Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Preprocessing and enriching text data

• Creating and managing embeddings

• Developing semantic search and information retrieval pipelines

• Adapting and experimenting with models using PyTorch or TensorFlow

• Maintaining documentation and version control

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree currently in progress or completed

• Relevant degrees include: Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related disciplines

• Proficient in Python programming, including type annotations and data manipulation

• Hands-on experience with NLP techniques: tokenization, stemming/lemmatization, stopword removal, and vectorization

• Practical understanding of embeddings, semantic search, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) methods

• Familiarity with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

• Knowledge of analytical pipelines and experimental methodologies in data science as applied to NLP

• Experience with generative models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and response evaluation is considered advantageous

• Understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)

• Proven experience in real projects (academic or professional) that includes documentation and testing
