Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical subject matter expert in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), as well as architecture, warehousing, processing, and accessibility.

• Collaborate closely with clients to design, model, and prototype software that supports semantic data management.

• Create software using programming languages such as Java, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), SPARQL, and various shell scripting languages.

• Engage in research, design, and implementation of software to catalog data products, curate data models, and integrate data into knowledge graphs.

• Oversee the analysis and cataloging of data products, conduct data discovery, analyze and align data within knowledge graphs, and assist in curating models and queries.

• Develop software unit tests and user interface tests as necessary.

• Prepare technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Department of Defense SECRET Security Clearance or higher.

• Capable of working in an office setting, which includes prolonged computer use and face-to-face communication with colleagues via telephone, email, or instant messaging.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, video game development, a related field, or possess equivalent experience.

• Have 10 or more years of professional experience as a data scientist or software engineer, or possess equivalent educational background.

• Proficient in writing data queries using Structured Query Language (SQL) or SPARQL.

• Familiarity with data representations including Resource Description Framework (RDF).

• Experience with graph data or semantic data stores such as MarkLogic, Virtuoso, Apache Jena, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, Stardog, AllegroGraph, or Blazegraph.

• Knowledge of automated testing tools like Mocha, Ava, JUnit, Selenium, or similar technologies.

• Proficient with Git / GitLab source code management tools.
