Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement machine learning models for various healthcare products, including the oversight of controlled substance management, patient privacy, and inventory control.

• Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate model performance and its impact on the business.

• Work alongside product teams and clients to outline analytics initiatives and develop prototypes. Transform vague business challenges into clearly defined, quantitative, and testable hypotheses.

• Convey technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients. Share findings and recommendations during client-facing meetings.

• Guide product roadmaps, assess technical viability, and evaluate project risks.

• Quickly adapt to new healthcare data sources as products progress and adjust to new machine learning methodologies and tools as required by product specifications.

• Enhance the overall skill level of the analytics team by exemplifying effective research communication through team presentations and documentation. Foster collaboration through code reviews, feedback on experimental designs, and involvement in model evaluation discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Proficiency in developing and deploying code in Python to create API endpoints (e.g., Flask, FastAPI).

• Openness to utilizing genAI tools for accelerated experimentation.

• Comprehensive understanding of statistical models, including distributions and transformations. Capability to construct and assess supervised and unsupervised machine learning models (tree-based models, clustering) in a practical environment.

• Practical experience with AWS cloud services such as SageMaker, Athena, RDS, Glue, ECR, IAM, and CodeBuild.

• Strong grasp of Git workflows and best practices in version control.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL.

• Proven history of a customer-oriented approach in delivering information and analysis to non-technical audiences.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to advocate for technical solutions to engineering teams and business stakeholders alike.
